Space carried out a stylish update to an elegant “Sky Lounge” in the vibrant city centre of Manchester.
Space went north to Manchester in May 2020 for a client to update the 43rd floor Sky Lounge on this luxury apartment block in the bustling City Centre. The Anaconda Cut comprises 349 stylish 1, 2 and 3 bed rental apartments with the communal Sky Lounge boasting panoramic views across the cityscape.
The client wanted a refresh of the Sky Lounge which, on the 43rd floor of this contemporary block of apartments, arguably has the best views in Manchester and is a key selling point for prospective tenants. Space was instructed to enhance the Sky Lounge’s inherent attraction with stylish, higher quality pieces and to improve the functionality of the communal space.
Drawing on the style of certain private members’ clubs and crucially, having asked tenants about how they used the communal Sky Lounge, Space integrated new chic pieces in with the existing furniture which was rejuvenated by striking accessories and clever redesign composition in accordance with what Space learned in its resident consultation. This also meant that we could maximise the available budget without compromising on quality. Areas within the communal space were made separate - distinct sections for a cinema, pool table, work space, lounging and dining. As a finishing touch, we were able to make use of client-installed bespoke curtains which provide additional privacy and a sound barrier in each area. The installation was completed in a very quick 24-hour turnaround!
