The Residence

Space Consultancy brought its design and furnishing expertise to a development of 1 and 2 bedroom apartments in the heart of Croydon.

We were excited to be instructed by the UK’s largest land and new homes agent, Countrywide, on behalf of their client, to bring a fresh new look to this contemporary building comprised of over 300 1 and 2 bed apartments in the heart of bustling Croydon for a planned re-launch.

The existing unsold flats needed to appeal to the first-time buyer’s market and Space was asked to install 2 show apartments, refurbish the Residence Lounge, large communal roof terrace and furnish all the hallways and lift lobbies, including with artwork, breathing new life into an existing build. The budget was not huge but Space was up for the challenge!

In line with the brief, contemporary living and functionality was at the forefront of our mind. We brought vibrant colours to the show apartments in the on-trend velvet sofas and carefully-selected accessories to appeal to a lively, young audience. The Residence communal lounge and roof terrace were made more welcoming and modernised by constructing distinct areas for work and play, utilising our interior designer to meticulously position all furniture to maximise the usability of the areas. Community has never been so important and with the communal roof areas accessible to all residents we made sure to make it a hub for socialising. It's in all the detail!
